One Community, One Spirit, One Heart

Vacation Bible School (VBS)

The Parish offers Vacation Bible School to promote Faith Formation in children who have completed Kindergarten through 4th grades. (Kids in higher grade levels are welcome to participate, but there are also volunteer opportunities for these children/youth.) All involved are blessed with the abundance of God’s love.

VBS programs generally develop a fun theme to help us explore our Catholic Christian Identity.  A variety of materials and activities are used to promote a safe, enjoyable learning environment and experience for everyone. Adult volunteers lead/teach in an activity area.  Youth in 5th–12th grades are encouraged to assist the adult Catechists and children in a multitude of ways.

Our Vacation Bible School programs consistently take place during the weekdays following Father’s Day in June. Activities take place from 9:00am–12:30pm Monday through Friday. Each day begins and ends in the Parish Center. We also have used other Parish buildings/locations to help the programs “come alive”.

Our first VBS took place with 60 children in 2006. Since then, we have grown to include 100 participants and often come close to having the same number of 5th-12th grade parish volunteers.

The backbone of our successful experiences continues to be the seemingly tireless efforts of our dedicated adult volunteers. Their commitment to sharing the Gospel message with our children and each other is a priceless gift indeed!
