The Adult Faith Formation team strives to bring people together to study their faith, so, together, they can grow closer to the Lord. To reach this goal, various types of programming are offered throughout the year from large multi-day parish missions, group presentations, book clubs and ongoing study groups. While gathering restrictions have changed or canceled many or our activities, some are resuming, and future events are being actively planned. Watch this page for updates.
The Stations of the Cross, provide a guided reflection on the passion and death of Jesus beginning with him being condemned to death and ending with him being laid in the tomb. Group Stations of the Cross will be led by a different person or group each Friday during Lent at 4:30 p.m. in the Church. No reservation is required. Booklets are also available in the parish office for individual reflection.
The Liturgy of the Hours, also known as the Divine Office, is the daily prayer of the Church, marking the hours of each day and sanctifying the day with prayer. This Lent, Sacred Heart is praying Morning and Evening Prayer on Tuesdays in the church. Morning Prayer, which provides a chance for the faithful to dedicate each new day to the Lord, will be held at 7:00. Evening Payer, which allows the faithful to offer thanks for the day mostly spent, will be held at 4:15. No reservation is required.
Online resources exist for individual faith formation. A small sample is listed below. Additional resources will be added over time.
If you can’t attend Stations of the Cross Fridays at 4:30 p.m. here at Sacred Heart, the Diocese of Saginaw has a version available here: https://vimeo.com/399343245
