Join the Sacred Heart Choir

The Sacred Heart Church Adult Choir is open to any interested person who has a desire to make beautiful music for the Lord. It is a volunteer choir for adults and youth who are at least 16 years of age. Auditions are NOT required.

The choir holds rehearsals on most Wednesdays beginning the Wednesday after Labor Day through the end of May, and usually sings at the 11:00 a.m. service on Sundays as well as for other occasions such as Holy Days, the Easter Vigil, and the evening Mass on Christmas Eve.

The choir is a mixed choir, singing in four parts (soprano, alto, tenor, and bass), and sings a varied repertoire ranging from traditional pieces through contemporary choral music. Those wishing to participate in the cantor ministry must be members of the adult choir in order to become familiar with the parish repertoire.

Attendance at rehearsals and faithful participation in the choir’s assigned liturgies are essential. A good ear, some sight-reading ability, and choral experience are helpful.

For more information, contact the director, Janet Maddocks, at jmaddocks@sha.net, or speak with the music ministers after a service.
