One Community, One Spirit, One Heart

Interested in Becoming a Catholic?  OCIA is for you!

Thank you for taking the first step to becoming a full member of the Catholic Church.  The Church welcomes those who want to join themselves to Christ through the sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist. She also welcomes Christians from other Christian communions who, already baptized, wish to complete their sacraments of initiation in the Catholic Church.

Each year, on Holy Saturday during the Easter Vigil, many are baptized into the Catholic Church in the United States. Parishes welcome these new Catholics through the Order of Christian Initiation for Adults (OCIA). OCIA is a process of education, faith sharing, and rituals for those who want to become Catholic.  OCIA is also intended for Catholics returning after some absence from the Church to the practice of the Catholic faith.
